HSE Manager

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating in Europe, Africa and Asia. The HSE Manager promotes and implements the HSE policy, safety culture and HSE system for the BIA Ivory Coast entity, working under the supervision of the Regional HSE Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Risk assessment: set up control measures, carry out regular audits and identify hazards
• Legal compliance: identify and implement HSE legal requirements, including updating permits and actions
• Training: run the HSE training matrix, including inductions for newcomers and follow-up of trainings
• HSE system: implement and improve the HSE management system
• Safety assessments: carry out Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for every task and ensure SOPs are followed regularly with training
• Inspections: run the inspection plan and design identification sheets for tools, equipment and chemicals, communicating them internally
• Accidents and incidents: report, investigate, perform root cause analysis and define preventive and corrective actions
• Reporting: report weekly to the Regional HSE Manager, analyse KPIs and define action plans
• Emergency plan: design site-specific emergency plans, organise periodic drills and train local, expatriate and visitor staff
• PPE and security: manage PPE accurately and ensure the security management system is followed, proposing improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health and safety or equivalent by experience
• 3-5 years in a similar position
• Proven mining industry experience is a plus
• Fluent English and French

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, mastery of Excel
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Experience with SAP is a plus
