HSE Officer – Exploration (7‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer will support the Exploration team by implementing and monitoring HSE policies, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving a safe working culture throughout the site.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Endeavour’s occupational health, safety and environmental strategies and ensure alignment with corporate requirements.
• Ensure all team members and contractors understand and comply with relevant legislation for plant, equipment, substances and workplace activities.
• Supervise accident investigations, analyse root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency health, security procedures and first‑aid response with senior officers and security personnel.
• Report regularly to management on HSE strategy status and risk management.
• Develop and deliver training sessions on HSE practices and legislation for managers, supervisors and workers.
• Conduct regular site inspections, routine safety checks and ensure PPE availability.
• Support internal and external HSE audits and prepare incident reports.
• Analyse safety data to identify trends and focus areas for improvement.
• Organise site inductions for new staff and contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health, safety and environmental management, preferably in exploration or mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and best‑practice standards.
• Ability to lead investigations, produce clear reports and implement corrective actions.
• Effective communication skills for training and reporting to senior management.
