HSE Supervisor

About the role

The HSE Supervisor will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives on a construction site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and fostering a culture of safety. This role involves direct interaction with site teams, contractors and local authorities to maintain a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance with HSE standards.
• Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all work areas.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing training to all personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training and audit findings.
• Support emergency preparedness drills and coordinate response with medical and emergency services.
• Review method statements and risk assessments to ensure adequacy and relevance.
• Track and report HSE performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably on construction or infrastructure projects.
• Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent is preferred.
• Fluency in English; French is highly desirable.
