Investment Officer – Transaction Advisory

About the role

The Investment Officer will join the Transaction Advisory Services Department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Abidjan. The role supports governments and private‑sector partners in designing, structuring and implementing public‑private partnership (PPP) projects across sectors such as electricity, water, transport, telecom and social services. It is a three‑year fixed‑term position that reports to senior managers within the Cross‑Cutting Solutions Vice‑Presidency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide transaction advisory services to government clients, including PPP design, financial structuring and risk allocation.
• Assist in M&A advisory, equity mobilization and asset‑monetization projects in collaboration with the Corporate Finance Services Department.
• Develop and review transaction documents, financial models and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with regional hubs and external partners to mobilize private investment for infrastructure projects.
• Monitor project implementation and report on performance metrics.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in transaction advisory, PPP advisory, investment banking or related sectors.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Experience working in emerging markets, preferably in Africa.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
