IT Controller

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa and needs a dedicated IT Controller to strengthen its internal control framework. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate IT and security risks while supporting audits and regulatory reviews in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary external contact for IT and security control audits conducted by banking partners and regulators.
• Support the execution of IT audits, draft reports, and manage remediation activities.
• Identify and control risks across the organization, extending beyond IT when needed.
• Ensure IT risks are captured in Wave’s risk mapping before product or process launches.
• Implement and monitor risk‑management policies specific to IT.
• Perform periodic reporting on risk‑management activities and conduct preventive and detective controls.
• Monitor internal mechanisms for reporting, investigating, and escalating risk issues.
• Anticipate shifts in risk trends and evaluate their impact on the business.
