Managing Director – Government Relations (Côte d’Ivoire)

About the role

The Managing Director will lead Hershey’s strategic presence in Côte d’Ivoire, overseeing government engagement, stakeholder relations, and the implementation of the Cocoa For Good strategy. Reporting to the Director of Cocoa Partnerships, this senior position serves as the company’s primary in‑country representative.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the senior liaison with national government ministries, regulatory bodies, diplomatic missions and multilateral institutions.
• Develop and execute a government‑engagement strategy aligned with Hershey’s sustainable cocoa sourcing goals.
• Monitor political and agricultural policy developments affecting the cocoa sector and advise senior leadership.
• Lead cross‑functional teams on program implementation, stakeholder alignment and regional initiatives across West Africa.
• Represent Hershey in public forums, industry events and high‑level negotiations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in government relations, public affairs or diplomacy, preferably within the agricultural sector.
• Proven ability to navigate complex political environments and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical and synthesis skills.
• Exceptional communication and discretion in handling sensitive information.
