Mining Project Manager - Open Pit Gold Mine

About the role

A leading international engineering and contract mining group is looking for an experienced Mining Project Manager for its open pit gold mining operations in Côte d'Ivoire. The role covers the overall management and successful execution of mining projects, delivering them safely, on time and within budget, in line with contractual, technical, operational and quality requirements. The incumbent leads the project team, coordinates activities, manages resources and interfaces, monitors performance and communicates with the client and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Higher education in Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience, with significant project management experience in contract mining
• Proven experience managing mining projects, preferably open-pit and contract mining operations
• Experience managing project teams, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service providers
• Fluency in English (mandatory); French preferred
• Advantageous: experience in large-scale mining mobilization, greenfield projects or project start-ups, and in multicultural and remote project environments

Required skills

• Project management: planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control and risk management
• Contract management, client relationship management and contractual interfaces
• Financial and commercial awareness: cost control, cash flow, forecasting, variations and claims
• Knowledge of mining operations, equipment, infrastructure, mobilization and commissioning
• Microsoft Office and project management/planning tools
