Network Support Engineer

About the role

Brilliant Computers is looking for a Network Support Engineer in Abidjan to support the organization's network infrastructure, keeping network services reliable, performant and available. The role covers troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and day-to-day network operations, and is offered as a freelance position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first and second-level support for network incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot issues related to IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and network routing.
• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts or outages.
• Maintain ticket updates and documentation for every incident.
• Work with internal IT teams on complex issues and help with network maintenance, upgrades and implementation projects.
• Keep customers informed about issue status and resolution.

Required profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience in network support or a similar role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant OEM device-specific training and certification needed to work on the products used.

Required skills

• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Advantageous: CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification; basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory.
