Product Engineer

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa, offering affordable financial services to millions of users. As a Product Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end development of payment features, from problem definition through shipping and post‑launch support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve payment flows across mobile and web platforms.
• Own feature delivery end‑to‑end, including design, implementation, deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers and cross‑functional teams to ship high‑impact features.
• Work on recent initiatives such as in‑store payments, utility bill payments, payroll for business owners, and transport payments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a product engineer.
• Fluent English; bilingual French is a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel to an operating market at least once a year for a minimum of six consecutive days.
