Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role works closely with production, maintenance, quality, management and regional engineering centres of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs, specifications, process flows, P&IDs and drawings.
• Maintain project documentation, including technical drawings, manuals and reports.
• Collaborate with internal resources, external engineering firms or consultants.
• Prepare tender documents and support the procurement department.
• Manage CAPEX projects and lead change processes for owned projects.
• Develop project plans, timelines and budgets in coordination with stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet global and local standards, food safety and SHE regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, mitigation strategies and safety compliance.
• Communicate updates to the Technical Manager and Plant Leadership team.
• Monitor milestones, provide status reports and resolve implementation issues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related engineering.
• 5‑10 years of design and/or project management experience, preferably in the food or process industry.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage budgets.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
• Fluent in English and local language at an advanced level.
