Regional IT Manager

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa and needs a Regional IT Manager to oversee IT operations across several West African countries. You will ensure that the technology backbone remains reliable, secure, and aligned with rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own IT operations across multiple countries, guaranteeing 99.9% uptime for services, hardware, and core tools.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for country‑level IT issues, coordinating with local staff and external vendors.
• Provide all employees in the region with the tools and equipment required to perform their roles effectively.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, policies, and documentation to standardise IT processes across locations.
• Enforce consistent IT procedures such as onboarding, off‑boarding, infrastructure configuration, asset management, and information security.
• Partner with the Information Security team to adapt and uphold security policies for each country.
• Advise IT and leadership on regional nuances, including purchasing constraints, network infrastructure, and local regulations.
• Identify resourcing gaps and drive hiring decisions for IT positions within the region.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with People, Finance, and Operations teams.

Required profile

• Proven ability to act as the primary escalation point for IT incidents across multiple countries.
• Experience developing and maintaining IT playbooks, policies, and documentation.
• Background partnering with information security teams to implement regional security measures.
• Strong advisory skills on regional purchasing, network, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience identifying talent gaps and participating in IT hiring decisions.
