Road and Motorway Geometry Expert

About the role

The Expert Road and Motorway Geometry will provide specialised expertise in the geometric design of road and motorway infrastructure for national and international projects. This full‑time remote position supports the entire design process, from feasibility studies to detailed design and value engineering, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review horizontal and vertical alignments, cross‑sections, and junction layouts.
• Prepare and validate design calculations and produce technical drawings.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, environmental and project control engineers.
• Support feasibility studies, design optimisation, risk assessments and constructability reviews.
• Provide technical guidance, participate in client design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of internal tools and methodologies.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in road and motorway geometric design, including alignments, profiles, cross‑sections, interchanges and junctions.
• Proven experience on major road or motorway projects, preferably within a consulting or engineering firm.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment with high organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French is an asset.
• Relevant degree in civil or transportation engineering; advanced qualifications are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with road design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads or similar.
• Experience with CAD/BIM tools for producing and managing design documentation.
• Solid understanding of national and international road design standards and safety criteria.
