SCADA/ADMS DB Modelling Engineer

About the role

The SCADA/ADMS DB Modelling Engineer will provide expertise in building and maintaining utility network models for customers. The role focuses on ensuring data quality, supporting implementation phases, and training client staff to sustain the model after hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain SCADA/ADMS/DMS network models (substations, feeders, switching devices, transformers, protection devices) using GIS and asset data.
• Validate network topology, phasing, and electrical parameters, and resolve data‑quality issues with customer GIS teams.
• Map SCADA/RTU points to model objects and create one‑line, schematic, and geographic displays.
• Prepare application data for DMS functions (load flow, FLISR, Volt/VAR optimization) and OMS mapping.
• Support FAT/SAT, cut‑over, go‑live, and post‑go‑live model maintenance; train customer modelling staff.
• Own technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with regional ADMS experts, project management, and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Control, Industrial Computing or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in distribution network modelling, GIS, SCADA/ADMS/DMS or related utility software.
• Strong understanding of distribution network topology, equipment and power‑system fundamentals.
• Fluency in French and working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• GIS tools: ESRI ArcGIS, Smallworld, QGIS; data formats CIM/XML, shapefiles.
• SQL, Excel and scripting for data transformation and validation.
• Python or SQL scripting for automation.
• Experience with ADMS/DMS/OMS model‑build tools (e.g., GE Vernova ADMS).
• Knowledge of load flow, FLISR, Volt/VAR optimization.
