Security Officer – Mines

About the role

The Security Officer will support the Security Manager in organizing and coordinating security activities for the mining and cement production facilities. This position ensures the presence and discipline of security agents, handles incidents, and maintains a safe environment within and around the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure security agents are present at their designated posts.
• Monitor daily discipline and performance of security agents.
• Assist supervisors in enforcing security instructions and maintaining authority.
• Liaise with internal and external partners to resolve security incidents such as fights, thefts, or other disturbances.
• Maintain cleanliness and prevent illegal activities in plant zones, including the prohibition of adulterated fuel, narcotics, unauthorized garages, and abandoned trucks.
• Prepare reports and meeting minutes for senior management.
• Represent the Security Manager in meetings when absent.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Security Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, risk management, business administration, or supply‑chain management.
• Professional qualification in security and experience in the mining or cement manufacturing sector.
• Prior experience in police or military service is an advantage.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a security role.
