Senior Program Management Specialist

About the role

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is seeking a Senior Program Management Specialist to provide high‑level strategic, technical and managerial support for its portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire. Reporting to the FAO Representative, the specialist will advise on coordination, implementation, quality assurance and resource mobilization for current and pipeline projects that advance agrifood systems transformation, climate resilience and biodiversity conservation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic coordination and oversight of the FAO Côte d’Ivoire portfolio, including Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility and other donor‑supported initiatives.
• Support the FAO Representative and Management Team in results‑based monitoring, reporting and portfolio coherence.
• Facilitate collaboration with national authorities, development partners, multilateral banks and UN agencies.
• Provide guidance on resource mobilization, investment‑center programs and emerging opportunities in sustainable cities, circular bio‑economy and renewable energy.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with FAO technical standards across all projects.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in program and project management within the agrifood, climate finance or international development sectors.
• Proven ability to work autonomously as a senior adviser and to engage senior stakeholders at national and international levels.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of delivering results in complex multi‑donor environments.
