Senior Tax Compliance Associate

About the role

The Senior Tax Compliance Associate reports to the Finance Compliance & Reporting Manager and ensures the company meets all statutory tax obligations in Côte d’Ivoire. The role involves preparing tax returns, reconciling tax accounts, and supporting audits while working closely with the Senior Accounts Associate.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Payroll Taxes, Withholding Tax, Business License) within deadlines.
• Maintain a tax filing calendar, monitor legislative changes, and advise on their impact.
• Reconcile all tax accounts monthly, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Coordinate responses to tax authority inquiries, audits, and liaise with external advisors.
• Prepare tax provisions, accruals, and disclosures for month‑end and year‑end closing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or related field (or BTS with extensive experience).
• Minimum 5 years of tax compliance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in the energy sector or a multinational environment.
• Fluency in French and proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Ivorian Tax Code and OHADA accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Experience using ERP/financial software and tax e‑filing platforms.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilote.
