Associate Banker – SME Finance & Development

About the role

The Associate Banker supports the full project cycle for SME finance initiatives, from origination through structuring, execution, and post‑signing monitoring. Working within the EBRD SME Finance & Development Group, the role combines transaction work with client management and policy dialogue.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and execute SME finance transactions as part of a project team, coordinating with clients, consultants and partners.
• Lead comprehensive due‑diligence, preparing financial models, term sheets, and internal approval memoranda.
• Monitor portfolio implementation, ensuring compliance with project agreements, covenant testing and reporting.
• Support business development and marketing activities for SME finance products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA or CIMA is desirable.
• Relevant experience in banking, private equity, asset management or financial consulting, preferably with exposure to the Ivory Coast or West African markets.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with a solid understanding of credit analysis.
