Community Development Regional Lead

About the role

Nestlé’s Research and Development Center in Abidjan is seeking a Community Development Regional Lead to drive child‑labor monitoring, community development and gender‑sensitive programmes across Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria. The role combines strategic partnership management, data collection for reporting and advocacy on human‑rights issues.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Child Labor Monitoring & Remediation System (CLMRS) and related KPIs in the assigned regions.
• Lead gender‑sensitive aspects of the Nestlé Cocoa Plan (NCP) and Income Accelerator Programme (IAP).
• Assist the IAP manager on education and income‑diversification pillars to meet performance targets.
• Represent Nestlé on West‑African human‑rights forums and engage with government stakeholders.
• Translate human‑rights agreements (e.g., CLCCG, EUDR) into actionable plans.
• Plan and report field visits, collect data for end‑of‑year reporting, and drive community‑development innovations such as UBEES.
• Design and budget youth programmes, ensuring gender sensitivity and alignment with human‑rights priorities.

Required profile

• University degree in agriculture, geography, human rights, international development or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of experience in cocoa activities and at least 3 years in human‑rights or community development.
• Hands‑on experience working with farmers or rural communities.
• Strong teamwork, communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Rainforest Alliance certification and supplier‑development principles.
• Fluency in French and English.
