Credit Manager – Credit Risk & Trade Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Credit Manager to lead credit risk assessment, set limits, and support sales growth while managing trade finance instruments for Dangote Cement CI. The role ensures the protection of receivables through disciplined evaluation, timely provisioning, and close coordination with insurers, banks and the Head Office.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer credit files promptly, ensuring complete documentation for credit insurers.
• Maintain the credit portfolio in SAP and other credit platforms, keeping limits, exposures and coverage up‑to‑date.
• Monitor customer performance, review accounts continuously and flag deteriorating exposures before they become impaired.
• Prepare monthly provisions for doubtful debt with detailed ageing and recoverability analysis.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Letters of Credit, bank guarantees and vendor bank confirmations.
• Verify vendor bank account changes applying fraud‑prevention controls.
• Produce daily credit performance reports and deliver consolidated monthly reports to Head Office.
• Ensure compliance with DCCI’s API, IMS and HSSE policies and promote a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in Finance, Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in credit risk management, trade finance and banking operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to assess creditworthiness and prepare provisions.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with insurers, banks and internal stakeholders.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• SAP credit module or equivalent credit management system.
