HME Specialist – Mobile Maintenance Manager

About the role

The HME Specialist leads owner‑side mobile maintenance for a mining operation, ensuring equipment reliability, safety and cost‑effectiveness. Reporting to the Mine Manager, the role is embedded within the contractor management structure and aligns maintenance practices with asset management standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all mobile maintenance activities comply with site safety, statutory requirements and HSE standards.
• Align mobile maintenance frameworks with existing standards, define planning standards, work‑management processes and KPIs to minimise downtime.
• Lead asset reliability initiatives, applying failure analysis, root‑cause analysis and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Act as the primary owner interface with the contractor, providing technical authority, challenging practices and escalating risks.
• Lead, coach and develop the mobile maintenance workforce.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 15 years technical experience in open‑pit mobile maintenance operations.
• At least 5 years in a HME/Mobile Maintenance Manager or Superintendent role.
• Proven experience developing and governing maintenance management systems in contractor‑operated environments.
• Strong communication in English; French is an asset.
• Leadership, analytical and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
