In-Country Operations Specialist – Francophone

About the role

The In-Country Operations Specialist (Francophone) will shape and execute the strategic roadmap for JUMO's key partnerships in the region. Reporting to the Regional Manager for Francophone Africa, you will combine local market knowledge with operational expertise to drive product performance and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Support product performance by delivering recommendations, action plans, productivity improvements, quality checks and system enhancements.
• Maintain and grow relationships with designated stakeholder groups through regular visits, needs assessment and proactive problem solving.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Product, Marketing, Customer Insights, Data Science, Finance, Capabilities and Customer Operations to identify opportunities and resolve issues.
• Lead project planning and execution, ensuring operational compliance and timely delivery of initiatives.
• Provide real‑time, reliable business reporting and monitor regulatory changes affecting in‑country operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within Financial Services, Technology, Telecom, FMCG or FinTech.
• Fluent in spoken and written French and English.
• Proven experience in project management and senior‑level relationship management.
• Strong understanding of financial products, credit risk, lending, savings and insurance.
• Experience negotiating with major counterparties and leading teams.
• Prior exposure to mobile financial services; MBA is a plus.
