Infrastructure Superintendent (Fixed Term 12 Months)

About the role

The Infrastructure Superintendent leads on-site supervision of camp infrastructure and architectural building projects. Full-time and stationed at the construction site, the role ensures that building works are carried out safely, on time, within budget and to the specified quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise day-to-day field operations, including camp facilities, buildings and civil works, in line with approved plans and specifications
• Perform routine site inspections, promote and enforce quality control and safety protocols, and manage costs within budget
• Coordinate with supervisors, suppliers and vendors for timely material delivery and site logistics
• Prepare daily or weekly reports on progress, workforce, equipment and safety, and run morning briefings and end-of-day walkthroughs
• Maintain site organisation and cleanliness, and liaise with managers, engineers, architects and inspectors on technical issues and approvals
• Manage site safety plans and toolbox talks, verify quality of work against drawings and specifications, and support the Camp and NPI area manager with coordination and issue resolution

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualifications and experience; engineering degree or tertiary qualification preferred
• 10-15 years of experience executing infrastructure projects or similar; experience in West Africa is desirable
• Civil Engineering qualification (or equivalent) and direct experience managing similar projects
• Exposure to construction management oversight from the owner's perspective, including progress tracking, QA/QC and commissioning handover
• Strong organisational skills, excellent English communication, and commercial awareness of contracts, progress and cost

Required skills

• Project and construction management software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to build relationships with contractors, consultants and owner's teams
