Senior Advisor, Field Operations & Surge Management

About the role

Working under the Program Director, the Senior Advisor will lead field operations and surge management for FHI 360 health programs across Francophone Africa, focusing on integrated health services and outbreak response. The role is remote with regular travel to country offices, including the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and technical assistance for HIV, MCH, Nutrition, Malaria, Polio, and Global Health Security projects.
• Develop, tailor, and implement SOPs, operational trackers, and best‑practice protocols.
• Oversee temporary country office management, including budgeting, staffing, and expense approval.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and surge staffing coordination for consultants and staff.
• Prepare donor documentation, subaward packages, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, security, and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Logistics, People & Culture, Security, and Digital Transformation teams to support field activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or international equivalent in a relevant field; Project Management certification preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in global health program design, implementation, and USG‑funded projects.
• Demonstrated experience working in conflict‑affected areas, preferably Eastern DRC.
• Fluency in English and French.
