Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert – Transport Governance

About the role

NTU International is seeking a senior expert to lead AI and digital transformation initiatives that will modernise transport governance across the ECOWAS region. The role supports the EU‑funded Technical Assistance project aimed at building smart, resilient and sustainable mobility systems in West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for integrating artificial intelligence, digital platforms and smart monitoring systems into transport, logistics and infrastructure.
• Design AI‑enabled monitoring tools, predictive analytics systems and decision‑support platforms.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks.
• Support digitalisation of corridor monitoring, customs, road safety, transport observatories and infrastructure management.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities on AI applications.
• Coordinate with ECOWAS institutions, ICT providers, transport agencies and development partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• At least 7 years of experience in AI systems, smart governance platforms or related digital transformation projects, preferably in developing countries.
• Proven experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
