Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer develops, reviews and delivers complex electrical designs for power, lighting and low-voltage systems. The role ensures technical accuracy, compliance with codes and standards and smooth coordination with other disciplines. It also guides junior team members and supports the Electrical Design Lead in reaching project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed designs for power, lighting and low-voltage systems, including load calculations, short-circuit analysis and equipment sizing, in line with local codes, standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil and architectural teams on integrated designs, take part in BIM coordination and clash detection, and resolve technical conflicts promptly.
• Produce electrical drawings, schematics and calculation reports, maintain version control and support project submissions, client presentations and technical meetings.
• Mentor electrical graduate engineers, share technical knowledge and best practices, and help the Electrical Design Lead plan resources and allocate tasks.
• Carry out design checks and internal reviews, identify risks in designs and propose corrective measures while keeping to company standards and client specifications.

Required profile

• 5 to 8 years of experience in electrical design on MEP or construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of power, lighting and low-voltage systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software and BIM tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, ETAP and DIALux.
