Tax Specialist - West Africa

About the role

Join ALS as a Tax Specialist supporting the North and West Africa regions. You will ensure full and timely tax compliance across multiple countries while maintaining accurate tax‑related accounting and supporting month‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit regional tax filings (VAT, WHT, corporate income tax, provisions) in line with local deadlines.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess impact and coordinate implementation with Finance and stakeholders.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of tax‑related balance‑sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items.
• Support month‑end close activities, tax audit requests and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Liaise with local tax authorities and external advisors to manage queries and audits.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years experience in tax compliance or finance with regional/multi‑country exposure.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines across countries and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of tax compliance requirements (VAT, WHT, CIT).
• Proficiency in ERP systems, especially SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation templates).
