West Africa Human Rights Manager

About the role

The West Africa Human Rights Manager leads Cargill’s Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) across Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, ensuring cocoa supply chains meet corporate, regulatory and customer expectations on child labor, forced labor, women’s empowerment and community development. This position drives strategy, oversees program execution and works closely with local operations and a wide range of stakeholders to improve outcomes for cocoa‑farming households.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve the Child Labour Monitoring and Response System (CLMRS) in collaboration with field and data teams.
• Lead the regional framework for forced labour prevention, risk identification, incident management and corrective actions.
• Maintain and update policy documents, SOPs and process guidelines related to human rights compliance.
• Manage grievance mechanisms to ensure accessibility, transparency and effective follow‑up.
• Conduct human rights risk and impact assessments for programs and operations.
• Ensure compliance with external assurance frameworks such as Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade and Promise Verified.
• Engage governments, civil society organisations and communities to promote human rights standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading human rights due diligence, child labour monitoring and forced labour mitigation in agricultural supply chains.
• Strong knowledge of international human rights standards and regional frameworks (UN, African Union).
• Ability to develop and execute strategy, manage budgets and oversee quality control.
• Experience working with multi‑stakeholder environments, including NGOs, governments and local communities.
