Accountant – Audit Manager

About the role

The Accountant – Audit Manager will ensure that all quarterly financial reports submitted to the Mastercard Foundation are fully supported, compliant, and audit‑ready. Working within the Women’s Economic Empowerment through Cashew Processing Program (WEECAP), the role focuses on rigorous documentation review rather than routine transaction processing.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and review all supporting documents for quarterly financial reports, verifying accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with donor requirements and approved budgets.
• Conduct consistency checks between accounting records, supporting documents, and financial summaries.
• Prepare and maintain organized, audit‑ready documentation packages for quarterly submission.
• Perform pre‑submission quality assurance checks, identify gaps or compliance risks, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain structured digital and physical filing systems to ensure traceability.
• Lead preparation of documentation bundles for internal, external, and donor audits, flagging high‑risk transactions and non‑compliance issues.

Required profile

• Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Experience preparing donor‑funded audit documentation, preferably for Mastercard Foundation or similar donors.
• Fluent in both French and English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project staff, regional finance teams, and headquarters.
