Category Manager Local Content – Indirect Spend

About the role

The Category Manager – Local Content (Indirect Spend) will support the Group Manager Sustainable Supply Chain & Local Content in coordinating and executing Local Content programs across West Africa. The role acts as the operational focal point for regulatory compliance, supplier development, reporting, and stakeholder coordination at both Group and site levels.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Group Local Content strategy across all operating jurisdictions.
• Coordinate execution of Local Content plans with site procurement and operational teams.
• Monitor compliance with national Local Content regulations and contractual obligations.
• Consolidate and track performance metrics such as local procurement spend, supplier participation, and workforce localization.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard local suppliers in priority categories.
• Coordinate supplier development programs to strengthen technical, operational, and commercial capabilities.
• Support supplier financing and capacity‑building initiatives with external partners.
• Monitor evolving Local Content legislation and maintain tracking systems for regulatory reporting.
• Assist with audits, internal assessments, and preparation of executive compliance dashboards.
• Engage with local suppliers, regulators, financial institutions, and development partners to align priorities.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating procurement or supply‑chain initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with Local Content regulations and supplier development processes.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams including Procurement, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal, and Community Relations.
