Certification Expert – Biofuel Sustainability

About the role

Eni Natural Energies Côte d'Ivoire is seeking a Certification Expert to lead the implementation and maintenance of bio‑fuel sustainability certifications (ISCC EU and INS) across its value chain. The role ensures that feedstock production, logistics and documentation comply with European bio‑fuel regulations and certification requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an action plan to achieve ISCC EU certification for bio‑fuel feedstock.
• Support internal and external stakeholders in meeting certification criteria for bio‑fuel production.
• Verify producer compliance and organise required audits.
• Maintain traceability of the supply chain and ensure all certification documents (payment receipts, weighbridge tickets, transport documents) are correctly prepared, archived and accessible.
• Keep an up‑to‑date mass‑balance inventory of certified incoming and outgoing products in Excel.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to validate and store all required sustainability declarations and transport paperwork.
• Build and sustain relationships with local communities and other key stakeholders.
• Assist general management tasks and contribute to training initiatives on sustainability tools.

Required profile

• Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences or a related field.
• Proven experience in sustainability certification (e.g., ISCC, Ecocert, GlobalG.A.P.) or quality management systems.
• Background in agricultural or agro‑forestry projects, including supply‑chain analysis for biomass.
• Familiarity with large‑scale agricultural production, contract farming and agro‑industrial initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an established network of relevant contacts.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for mass‑balance tracking and data management.
