Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

MagmaSend is seeking a senior finance leader to join its executive team in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. As Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for shaping the financial strategy of a fast‑growing fintech operating across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reporting in line with applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements across all operating countries.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
• Lead risk management efforts and implement controls to safeguard assets.
• Direct the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance functions, preferably in financial technology or payments.
• Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Excellent decision‑making, problem‑solving, and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial software and tools.
