Chief of Party

About the role

The Chief of Party will lead an industry‑led initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience of the cocoa supply chain in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. Reporting to senior stakeholders, you will oversee all operational, verification, impact and coordination functions for a three‑year seed stage program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical direction and strategic oversight of the cocoa resilience program.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regional and local partners, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure full delivery of technical, financial, compliance, and contractual obligations.
• Manage daily program operations, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate and supervise the work plan to meet outputs on time and within budget.
• Recruit, onboard, and supervise staff, consultants, and partners, including a team of 20+ direct reports and over 200 field coaches and enumerators.
• Facilitate stakeholder participation and maintain transparent reporting across all implementation partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience managing large, multi‑disciplinary teams in agricultural or development projects.
• Deep understanding of the cocoa sector and supply‑chain challenges in West Africa.
• Strong track record of delivering complex programs on time, within budget, and meeting compliance standards.
• Ability to work in a flexible hybrid environment and coordinate across matrixed organizations.
