English Tutor for Young Learners

About the role

Centre Éducatif Myrhann (CEM) is an educational centre that helps francophone young learners acquire English and essential soft skills. It is looking for an English Tutor for a full-time, hybrid position in Abidjan, combining on-site teaching with some work-from-home activities. The tutor plans and delivers lessons focused on vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson materials and deliver engaging English lessons for young learners.
• Assess learner progress and provide individualized feedback.
• Support learners in developing soft skills such as confidence, collaboration and critical thinking.
• Conduct online tutoring sessions when needed and keep accurate records of learner performance.
• Take part in team meetings and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics or a related field, or equivalent teaching experience.
• Experience teaching English to francophone learners is an asset; basic French is an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to diverse learning needs and maintain an inclusive, respectful classroom.

Required skills

• Strong English teaching and tutoring skills, with clear explanations of grammar concepts.
• Experience with online tutoring platforms and blended learning.
• Familiarity with modern teaching tools and educational technology for language learning.
