Environmental and Social Intern

About the role

The Environmental & Social (E&S) Intern will support the team in delivering environmental and social studies, monitoring and stakeholder engagement for projects in Ivory Coast. The role combines field data collection, reporting and research, offering exposure to international standards such as those of the International Finance Corporation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and monitor environmental data at project sites, including waste, water, air quality and biodiversity.
• Assist in baseline studies and environmental impact assessments (EIA/ESIA).
• Support environmental inspections and site visits.
• Participate in stakeholder engagement, community consultations and prepare meeting notes and reports.
• Monitor community grievances and social issues linked to project activities.
• Help ensure compliance with environmental and social management plans and national regulations.
• Research environmental and social regulations and standards, and contribute to technical reports.
• Maintain organized records of environmental and social data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Environmental Science, Management, Sustainable Development, Social Sciences, Geography or related field.
• Previous internship or academic exposure to environmental or social projects is a plus.
• Fluent French (required) and professional working level English (preferred).
• Attention to detail, strong willingness to learn, teamwork and adaptability.
