Fraud Analyst

About the role

Wave is seeking a Fraud Analyst to protect its mobile money customers, agents and business from fraud risk while ensuring services remain accessible and easy to use. The role is based in Abidjan and reports to the Regional Risk Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Assess fraud risks periodically and visit field locations to understand local challenges.
• Identify vulnerabilities of customers, agents and staff and provide reliable data, dashboards and reporting.
• Prepare fraud training materials and communicate fraud issues to stakeholders.
• Investigate suspicious transactions, escalate issues and coordinate with legal and local authorities.
• Perform data analysis on fraud to support decision‑making and monitor commission‑related complaints.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Audit, Business Administration, Finance, Criminology or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial sector investigations, fraud risk controls or regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work under pressure.
