Group Security Training Manager

About the role

The Group Security Training Manager leads the design, delivery and continuous improvement of security training programmes across all mining sites. This position ensures that security personnel are well‑trained, compliant with regulations and prepared for emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive security training curricula tailored to the mining industry.
• Update training materials to reflect the latest security trends, threats and best practices.
• Deliver training sessions on‑site and virtually using classroom instruction, hands‑on exercises, simulations and e‑learning.
• Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, feedback and performance metrics, and implement improvements.
• Ensure all programmes comply with local, state, federal regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with site security managers, HR and external experts to identify training needs and schedule sessions.
• Maintain detailed records of attendance, certifications and produce regular compliance reports.
• Stay informed about new security threats, technologies and training methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, education or related field (master’s degree a plus).
• 5‑7 years of experience in security management or training, preferably within mining or industrial settings.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering security training programmes.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management and regulatory requirements in mining.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly to multiple mining sites.
• Relevant certifications such as CPP or CTDP are advantageous.
