Head of Controls

About the role

Vivo Energy Côte d'Ivoire is seeking a Head of Controls to lead the internal control function within its Finance Department. The role is pivotal in safeguarding assets, ensuring data quality, and optimizing financial processes while complying with local regulations and global policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and execute the internal controls function, including audit manual preparation, audit planning, scheduling, and resource estimation.
• Conduct risk assessments across departments and functional areas according to defined timelines.
• Perform audit testing on identified risk areas and report findings.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies and operating procedures aligned with Vivo Energy’s global standards and local laws.
• Monitor compliance with financial policies, propose modifications, and advise management on risk mitigation.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses in financial and administrative processes and promote best practices.
• Review responses to internal and external audit queries, ensure implementation of recommendations, and follow up on audit action plans.
• Provide periodic compliance reports to management and deliver internal control training to staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 6–10 years of combined experience, including at least 4 years as an external auditor in a reputable international audit firm and 2 years in internal control within a multinational group.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, finance, audit, internal control, risk management and treasury functions.
• Proven experience in drafting internal policies, procedures, and process documentation.
