Health & Safety Superintendent

About the role

The Health & Safety Superintendent reports to the QHSE Manager and leads the development, implementation and monitoring of occupational health and safety policies across all sites. The role ensures compliance with legislation, drives a safety‑first culture and supports all heads of departments in managing risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain OHS strategies, systems and procedures aligned with corporate standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Lead accident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency response, mine rescues, firefighting and first‑aid teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety performance analyses.
• Oversee PPE availability, HSE training induction and practical testing.
• Prepare and present KPI reports on safety performance, incident trends and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in SHEQ management or equivalent.
• Certified Safety Professional or NEBOSH IGC certification.
• Minimum 10 years OHS experience, with at least 5 years in the mining sector.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Proven ability to work in senior management teams and multicultural environments.

• NEBOSH IGC certification.
• Certified Safety Professional qualification.
