About the role

Fairtrade Africa is seeking an experienced professional to lead its internal audit and risk function. The role involves providing independent, objective assurance and consulting across the organization to ensure robust internal controls, effective risk management and accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

Lead the internal audit and risk team in planning and executing audit engagements.
Assess internal controls, risk management activities and financial statements for compliance and accuracy.
Identify non‑conformities, recommend corrective actions and monitor implementation.
Provide consulting advice to improve governance, risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
Prepare audit reports and present findings to senior management and the Board.

Required profile

Proven experience in internal audit, risk management or related financial control functions.
Strong understanding of audit methodologies and risk assessment frameworks.
Ability to work independently and lead a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
