Junior Investment Consultant – Lusophone Compact Initiative

About the role
The African Development Bank is seeking a Junior Investment Consultant to support the Lusophone Compact Initiative, a three‑year programme aimed at accelerating private‑sector development in Portuguese‑speaking African countries. The role will involve pipeline development, transaction analysis and implementation of investment and risk‑mitigation activities across Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea‑Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Key responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities and assist non‑sovereign operations teams in advancing transactions.
- Contribute to active management of the Lusophone Compact pipeline and portfolio.
- Develop a pipeline of viable investments and technical‑assistance projects in PALOPs.
- Assess investment opportunities using the Bank’s evaluation tools, including the Lusophone Compact Guarantee.
- Conduct analytical work on financial and economic viability, development impact and structural contribution.
- Advise on appropriate financial structures for transactions across Lusophone Compact countries.
- Participate in negotiations and perform due diligence on transactions and sponsors.
Required profile
- Early‑career experience in investment, finance or transaction analysis relevant to pipeline development and investment support.
