Lead, Project Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

About the role

The Rainforest Alliance seeks a Lead for Project Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) to provide strategic and technical leadership for a cocoa‑farming project in Côte d'Ivoire. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will design, implement and continuously improve MEL systems to support data‑driven decision‑making and donor accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily MEL workplans, track progress and ensure timely delivery of outputs.
• Oversee data quality, integrity and validation in collaboration with the Data Specialist.
• Provide oversight for field data collection, enumerator coordination and survey implementation.
• Prepare regular MEL reports, dashboards and presentations for partners and donors.
• Maintain organized documentation of MEL processes, tools and outputs.
• Coordinate with data, technical, finance and field teams to ensure smooth MEL execution.
• Guide consultants, service providers and enumerators to ensure quality deliverables.
• Design and refine MEL tools, surveys and indicators; support baseline, midline and endline studies.
• Train staff and partners on M&E methods and tools, and lead learning and adaptive management sessions.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in international development, environmental science, agriculture, economics, data science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in monitoring, evaluation, learning or performance measurement in agricultural or sustainability programs.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Ability to travel locally and internationally up to 30% of the time.
