Maintenance Manager – Rolling Unit

About the role

The Maintenance Manager for the Rolling Unit is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and supporting overall production performance. This role directly contributes to facility availability, team safety, and continuous improvement of maintenance practices within a 24/7 steel mill environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the unit’s maintenance strategy, planning preventive, corrective and improvement interventions.
• Diagnose breakdowns, analyse malfunctions and propose sustainable solutions while monitoring key performance indicators such as equipment availability and downtime reduction.
• Supervise mechanical, electrical and workshop teams, approve weekly schedules, conduct performance reviews and drive skill development.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects using PDCA or similar methodologies and support internal audits.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety, HSE and QMS requirements, analyse incidents and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (Bac + 5) in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, electromechanics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in heavy industry, preferably a steel mill operating 24/7.
• Strong leadership, organizational and analytical abilities with a proactive improvement mindset.

Required skills

• Heavy mechanics, hydraulics and industrial electricity knowledge.
• Automation systems expertise.
• Proficiency with CMMS (e.g., COSWIN) for tracking interventions and indicators.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans, diagrams and catalogs (FR/EN).
• Advanced troubleshooting of complex equipment failures.
• Contractor and new‑work management.
• Knowledge of QMS and HSE standards.
• Advanced Excel and general office tools.
