About the role
The Emergency Project Medical Referent supports the design, implementation and monitoring of emergency medical activities for MSF WaCA, ensuring timely, quality medical responses in crisis contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in exploratory missions and rapid health assessments to identify medical needs and priorities.
- Design and implement medical strategies aligned with MSF priorities, integrating public‑health approaches such as epidemics, nutrition and vaccination.
- Supervise and support field medical teams, coordinate with ministries of health and partners, and step in for the Medical Coordinator when required.
- Contribute to planning, budgeting and monitoring of medical resources for emergency projects.
- Monitor medical indicators, ensure quality of care and produce reports on interventions.
Required profile
- University degree in a medical or paramedical field.
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in humanitarian emergencies, preferably as a Project Medical Referent.
- Working proficiency in English and French.
Required skills
- Emergency public‑health knowledge (epidemiology, surveillance, outbreak response).
- Vaccination and nutrition expertise.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
