Process Safety Specialist

About the role

Eni Côte d'Ivoire is seeking a Process Safety Specialist to support the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management across its operations and projects in Abidjan. The role ensures compliance with Eni HSE standards, local regulations and international best practice, aiming to prevent major accident hazards and protect asset integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements in operational and project activities.
• Promote a strong process safety culture and awareness among Eni and contractor teams.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, Bow‑Tie, SIL and other risk assessment studies.
• Identify and mitigate Major Accident Hazards (MAH) and follow up on recommendations from risk assessments and audits.
• Contribute to the development and review of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs).
• Support commissioning, start‑up, shutdown and modification phases.
• Participate in Management of Change (MoC) processes and monitor process safety barriers and KPIs.
• Assist in incident investigations related to process safety events and near‑misses.
• Prepare and execute process safety audits, inspections and emergency preparedness activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Process, Industrial Safety, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in process safety within the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
