Product Manager - Chronic Care

About the role

Exphar, a Belgian pharmaceutical group active in 25 African countries for 45 years, is strengthening its Marketing team and hiring a Product Manager - Chronic Care to grow its portfolio across Sub-Saharan African markets. The role covers cardiovascular, diabetes and other chronic disease areas and is strongly business-oriented, turning market insights into commercial initiatives. It is based in Abidjan, Douala or Lagos, with regular travel across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Build brand strategies and develop and implement Brand Plans for the Chronic Care portfolio
• Analyse market potential, competition, pricing, distribution and prescribing dynamics
• Identify new growth opportunities by market, customer segment, channel or geography
• Turn field insights into measurable commercial initiatives and track sales, KPIs and the ROI of marketing activities
• Contribute to sales forecasting, portfolio prioritisation and trade-offs between markets
• Take part in new product launches and monitor their early commercial phases
• Work with Country Managers and Sales teams, and develop promotional and scientific materials with Medical Affairs
• Contribute to KOL strategies and medical education projects, and carry out regular field visits

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, product management, sales, business development, medical promotion or a similar commercial healthcare role
• Experience in cardiovascular, hypertension and/or diabetes
• Knowledge of African pharmaceutical markets
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English, as the role covers both French-speaking and English-speaking markets

Required skills

• Good command of Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to understand scientific and clinical data needed to develop brands
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
