Project Coordinator – Adaptation Fund (Level A)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of the Adaptation Fund project on coastal climate adaptation, ensuring delivery of activities in line with the work plan and UN‑Habitat objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all Adaptation Fund project activities, monitoring progress and reporting to the Fund, the Abidjan Convention Secretariat and UNEP.
• Organise a regional workshop on coastal climate adaptation, preparing concept notes, agendas, background materials and a final report with recommendations.
• Develop and operationalise a digital knowledge platform for regional knowledge exchange, producing knowledge products, case studies and best‑practice documentation.
• Prepare and disseminate regional knowledge products on coastal adaptation, documenting lessons learned and emerging practices.
• Support regional coordination of marine and coastal resilience initiatives, strengthening partnerships with UN agencies, regional organisations, fisheries bodies, research institutions and development partners.
• Draft technical and strategic documents such as project proposals, policy briefs, implementation guidance and communication materials.
• Facilitate regional consultations and policy dialogues with stakeholders and decision‑makers, contributing to regional strategies and action plans aligned with the Abidjan Convention.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in environmental affairs, climate change, marine science or a related field.
• Proven experience in coordinating international climate‑adaptation projects and managing multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of the Adaptation Fund, the Abidjan Convention and UNEP reporting requirements.
