About the role

The Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights and Development in Africa seeks a specialist to lead advanced evaluation methods, focusing on contribution analysis and outcome harvesting. The role aims to credibly link the organisation's interventions to observed field changes, even when attribution is challenging.

Key responsibilities

• Apply contribution analysis protocols across result domains such as transactions, capacities, and institutions.
• Conduct outcome harvesting for completed projects, tracing reported beneficiary changes back to the Centre’s contribution.
• Train team members on these advanced qualitative methods and facilitate workshops.
• Ensure quality assurance of all causal findings, systematically identifying alternative explanations.
• Assign confidence levels (strong, moderate, indicative) to each finding and document unverifiable cases.

Required profile

• Specific expertise in contribution analysis and outcome harvesting.
• Strong experience in qualitative evaluation and theory‑of‑change methodology.
• Ability to lead training sessions and simplify complex methods for diverse audiences.
