Underground Senior Surveyor – West Africa Mining Project

About the role

Perseus Mining is looking for an experienced Underground Senior Surveyor to lead the survey department for the Yaouré underground gold project in Côte d’Ivoire. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will oversee all survey activities from pre‑development through active mining, ensuring safety, schedule and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Underground Survey Department and manage a team of surveyors.
• Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc survey plans and progress reports.
• Support the Technical Services team in the development and delivery of mine plans.
• Monitor, track and report overbreak performance and trends.
• Define roles, responsibilities and KPIs for the survey team.
• Mentor and train junior and national survey staff on company standards and underground mining operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of underground surveying experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Tertiary qualification in Surveying or a related discipline.
• Strong command of Surpac and experience using Deswik.
• Proven ability to train and develop a national workforce.
• Experience on underground mine development projects, preferably in West Africa.
• French language skills are an advantage.
