Senior Drilling & Well Engineer – Lead Technical Resource

About the role

You will act as the lead technical resource for a structured well delivery engagement, providing independent technical assurance during the pre‑execution phase and senior oversight throughout drilling execution. Embedded within the Operator’s team, you will challenge and validate third‑party deliverables, run key technical workshops, and help ensure safe, on‑schedule, within‑AFE delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent technical assurance for well design and drilling plans before execution.
• Provide senior oversight and supervision during drilling operations.
• Validate and challenge third‑party deliverables, ensuring compliance with project standards.
• Facilitate technical workshops and peer‑review sessions with multi‑party stakeholders.
• Monitor cost control, AFE variance management, and programme schedule.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of oil and gas experience in well engineering and/or drilling operations.
• Proven track record in well design, programming, AFE preparation and drilling execution oversight.
• Offshore West Africa shallow‑water jack‑up experience, preferably Gulf of Guinea.
• Experience embedded in or seconded to an Operator (NOC or IOC) drilling team.
• Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
