Senior Manager Government Affairs - Central Africa

About the role

Visa is seeking a proactive and strategic Senior Manager to lead Government Affairs across Central Africa from its Yaoundé office. The role involves shaping public policy, building relationships with government officials and regulators, and supporting Visa’s growth in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a Government Affairs strategy for Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic and Chad.
• Produce high‑quality position papers, policy briefs, analyses and engagement plans aligned with Visa’s global and regional priorities.
• Monitor, influence and advocate on legislation, regulation and policy affecting digital payments and fintech.
• Build and sustain relationships with government bodies, industry groups, NGOs and multilateral organisations.
• Represent Visa in strategic forums, provide internal training and briefings on policy matters.
• Manage operational aspects including budgets, reporting and process improvement.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of the digital payments ecosystem and its economic and social impact.
• Proven experience developing stakeholder‑relations strategies in anglophone West Africa.
• Strong political and business acumen with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in both French and English.
• Self‑starter who can work independently and collaboratively across functions.
